Alata Texas is a robust variety of Sarracenia from the eastern part of Texas. Alata Texas is a paler form of Alata. Gorgeous yellow green color with dark veins running along the tube and throat. Plant currently in a 4 inch pot. 1 growth point with 3 mature pitchers, one more currently forming. The plant in the picture is the exact plant for sale. Not a division, but the entire plant. I currently ship Plants out on Monday’s and Thursdays, Because I don’t like for plants to sit over the weekend. So please allow a few days before shipping. I ship all plants bare root wrapped in moist paper towel. Due to county regulations, it is illegal for me to ship plants potted. I leave the pitchers on (except during dormancy) and do my best to ship with as little damage as possible. However, I cannot guarantee that the leaves or flowers will arrive undamaged. They are delicate after all.  CPR1

This species comes from Hidalgo, municipality of El Chico, Las Ventanas, at an altitude of 3000m, and can be found under oaks and juniper with silty soil in the wild. In winter, pinguicula crassifolia has a small, tight rosette while in the summer it will produce more spoon-shaped carnivorous leaves. The plant you will receive will be between 1.5”-2” in diameter. The flower is a deep, hot pink color with a very fuzzy stalk that sometimes produces no spur - we have chalked this up to a mutation in the plant we have. It has no negative effects on the health of the plant. The leaves will be a rich lime green in winter, becoming lighter in summer and may blush around the margins under high light. We would consider this to be an intermediate level plant.

This particular variety of pinguicula moranensis is found 25km outside of the town of San Cristobal de Las Casas in Oaxaca, Mexico. This plant produces almost pure white flowers, save for its yellow throat, and large neon yellow-green leaves that don’t color up much even under high light. The plant you will receive will be between 1”-1.5” in diameter. During dormancy, pinguicula moranensis var. alba will have a tight, rich green rosette with small, slightly pointed leaves. When in active growth, the plant can get quite large with bigger, flatter carnivorous leaves. We would consider this to be a beginner-intermediate level plant.
