This hybrid was named “Improbable” because it is a supposed cross with pinguicula kondoi, which is thought to be sterile. The cross itself is pinguicula agnata "Red Leaf" by pinguicula kondoi. In addition, it has an interesting growing habit where it loves to clump and divides readily. The plant you will receive will be between 1”-2” in diameter. This cross sports a cute white, pale, purple veined flower with “purple pits” and yellow throat. The leaves are rounded, mostly a pale green, but colors up a nice blush-red under high light. We would consider this to be an intermediate level plant.

This is a flowering size division of the beautiful leucophylla from Calen Hall. I've pictured it grown outdoors in my dry conditions so you can see that the mouth does infuse with pink in outdoor conditions. It's a small grower, but is vigorous and divides readily producing a robust bouquet in the fall. All plants are shipped bare root via USPS Priority mail with pitchers intact when not dormant so your plant arrives safe, healthy, and ready to thrive.

For those of you looking for AMAZING Mitchelliana bred by master Sarracenia breeder Phil Faulisi, here is your shot! This cross was grown from seed obtained from Phil in fall of 2018 and are showing some AMAZING colors. Due to our high powered LED lights, these plants don’t currently exhibit much white coloration, however outdoors they should be striking with white hoods and strong veins! The plant you are purchasing will be shipped, potted in a 2.5” pot ready to grow for you! The plants are currently growing indoors under lights, so you will need to harden them off gradually before moving them outdoors to grow. These will be stunners! The last photo in this listing is from a friend whom I shared one of these plants with and should show a better idea of what they’ll look like outdoors. Shipping on these plants is FREE, so stock up!

This cross #21038 really highlights the colors of both pinguicula lauenana parents. The seedlings have an array of color combinations; some much darker and some staying much lighter. The plant you will receive will be between 1”-1.5” in diameter. The leaves are mostly rounded, some being a little more oblong than others. The coloration tends to vary between a lighter pinky tone with purple-pink margins, to deep red coloration with “green pits”. We would consider this to be an intermediate level plant.

Pinguicula kondoi is a wonderful Mexican butterwort with strikingly veined white flowers and colorful, thick little leaves. There is some confusion and controversy over whether kondoi is synonymous with and should be referred to as reticulata, but for now the debate is still open and kondoi appears to be the most generally accepted name. That is also what was on the tag of the original plant that we received. The plant you will receive will be between 1"-1.5" in diameter. We would consider this an intermediate level plant.

This unique cultivar of Pinguicula laueana produces flowers that are less intensely red and slightly more faded-looking, appearing orange or salmon-colored. There also appears to be more variability between plants, perhaps because “Tangerine” comes from a California Carnivores cross between two different laueanas: red x fuschia, creating a stunning, new, genetically-unique variety of laueana. The plant you will receive will be between 1"-1.5" in diameter. We would consider this a beginner level plant.

Alata Texas is a robust variety of Sarracenia from the eastern part of Texas. Alata Texas is a paler form of Alata. Gorgeous yellow green color with dark veins running along the tube and throat. Plant currently in a 4 inch pot. 1 growth point with 3 mature pitchers, one more currently forming. The plant in the picture is the exact plant for sale. Not a division, but the entire plant. I currently ship Plants out on Monday’s and Thursdays, Because I don’t like for plants to sit over the weekend. So please allow a few days before shipping. I ship all plants bare root wrapped in moist paper towel. Due to county regulations, it is illegal for me to ship plants potted. I leave the pitchers on (except during dormancy) and do my best to ship with as little damage as possible. However, I cannot guarantee that the leaves or flowers will arrive undamaged. They are delicate after all.  CPR1

This interesting cross #22005 has not yet given us a flower, but we suspect it will turn out a bright pink like it's parent p. hemiepiphytica with swooping petals. So far, the seedlings have come out with a pretty pink hue to their leaves and a darker, curled margin like p. potosiensis 'Giant' and can have an aggressive dormancy. The plant you will receive will be between 1"-1.5" in diameter. We would consider this an intermediate level plant. *p. potosiensis flower credit to pinguicula.org off a Google search

This species has earned the common name of “primrose butterwort” for the beautiful, overlapping, multi-lobed flower it produces similar in appearance to a rose. This amazing plant will also produce plantlets from the tips of established leaves, but needs warm temperate conditions to be happy. The plant you will receive will be between 1”-1.5” in diameter. The flower has a powdery blue-purple hue to it, paling out towards the edges, with   peek-a-boo “yellow pits” between petals. The foliage will be a rich yellow-green, low growing and triangular in shape. Pinguicula primuliflora “Rose” is a wetland loving ping from the Southern US, wanting wet and warm conditions to be happy.

This beautiful, unknown hybrid almost certainly contains pinguicula laueana and gigantea genetics. Named for the visual engineer and camera operator responsible for many of the absolutely incredible time lapse shots of plants and fungi in modern nature documentaries, including BBC’s “The Green Planet” with David Attenborough.  The plant you will receive will be between 1”-1.5” in diameter. Pinguicula “Chris R. Field” has large, tongue-like leaves that stay a pale green and color up with a pinkish tinge under high light. The flower itself is a bright pink with subtle venation, and a pale yellow throat with noticeable white hairs; the lobes are oblong with rounded ends, similar to the shape on that of pinguicula laueana. We would consider this to be a beginner-intermediate level plant.

Pinguicula ‘Weser’ is a very forgiving, easy growing butterwort that’s a great beginner plant. The cross is Pinguicula ehlersiae x moranensis. The flowers are a vibrant pink with darker purple coloration where the petals meet and a stark, solitary white streak at the throat. The leaves can be an intense pink under high light or larger and green under low light. ‘Weser’ is a classic hybrid that has been around since the 1980s. We believe its name comes from a German river near where the hybridizer lived. The plant you will receive will be between 1"-1.5" in diameter. We would consider this a beginner level plant.

This is an excellent hybrid of the two perennial species of Byblis.  The mature plant is 1 year old.  You will be purchasing a tissue culture plant in sterile media.  Please note that the cultures are of this hybrid but you will only get one "tube", not a set of 5.  Wash the media off the plant and pot it up.  I suggest 3:2:1 perlite: sand:peat.  Keep the humidity high while the plant acclimates and keep shaded until it acclimates.  You can divide these prior to potting if you wish to make additional cuttings. Shipping is $12 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.

You will be purchasing a rooted cutting of Nepenthes maxima (purple).  These plants are from cuttings that were struck at the end of June and the beginning of July 2021, so they are about 22 months old.  Please, DO NOT buy these if you are expecting a large established plant and if you have little experience with young, rooted cuttings.  I will only ship cuttings that have terminal growth or a lateral bud has begun growth.  The pictures are of this particular species and are representative of the root system and stem. You will receive 1 plant that will be shipped to you bare-root by Priority Mail.   Shipping for Nepenthes is $15 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.  We ship Mondays and Tuesdays.

An amazing hybrid by Bob Beer, pinguicula “Big Purple Thing” is definitely a fan favorite because of the sheer length of the flower stalk alone. The plant you will receive will be between 1”-1.5” in diameter. This cross featured a long-stalked, purple flower that’s on the larger side, with subtle venation and a white throat. On the leaves, there are noticeable hairs close to the center of the rosette and on the bottom part of the flower stalk leading into the plant. The foliage is a bright green with a fade into purple on ends. We would consider this to be an intermediate level plant.

This is one of Howard’s favorite butterworts. It has one of the larger flowers that are produced by butterworts, second only to perhaps ‘Faulisi.’ They are a beautiful shade of purple and the petals and overall flower are surprisingly flat-surfaced. The plant itself generally stays a lime green, exhibiting little-to-no pigmentation. These plants (including “Sumidero 1,” which we hope to have available soon) were collected in a national park, Sumidero Canyon, in the Mexican state of Chiapas, possibly by Andreas Wistubas. The plant you will receive will be between 1"-1.5" in diameter. We would consider this an intermediate level plant.

This gorgeous Mesoamerican butterwort species is a little bit different than many of the other butterworts we have for sale.  In the mountains of northern Central America it grows as an epiphyte, so it prefers a mix with moss and/or bark. In our experience, it also prefers to be kept more wet than many other butterworts.  If grown in ideal conditions, Pinguicula mesophytica can flower all year. The flowers are vivid with a distance white stripe and round petals; the upper lobes give the flowers the appearance of having Mickey Mouse ears. A great hybridizer, mesophytica is also the pollen-parent of a couple of our favorite crosses, “Peach” and “Pastel.” The plant you will receive will be between 1"-1.5" in diameter. We would consider this an intermediate level plant.

Known from just one location in Oaxaca, Mexico, Pinguicula gigantea or the Giant Butterwort is the largest butterwort yet discovered. In ideal conditions, they can grow to be as wide as a dinner plate!  Pinguicula gigantea is also fairly unique in that it produces carnivorous mucilage on both the surface and underside of its leaves and like to be kept wetter. It also doesn’t go dormant, so it produces sticky, carnivorous leaves all year. The flowers are a beautiful purplish that starts to fade towards white as the flowers age. The plant you will receive will be between 1"-1.5" in diameter. Gigantea is also a fantastic hybridizer, producing pollen and seed if manually pollinated. In our experience, this plant is usually at its largest in the fall or winter, flowers in the winter, and then divides in the spring.
