Only one packet left of this rare locality; the Primrose butterwort is a fairly easy to grow swamp-loving temperate from the same region as many American pitcher plants are found, and this form is a pure white-flowered version from the famed Blackwater River area in northern Florida. The seeds have a small chance of being outcrossed with a standard purple-flowered form, but are more likely to have been the result of a selfing and so should produce many white-flowered babies. Packet contains approx. 20-30 seeds. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class). US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. If a package is lost in transit, please contact as soon as possible.

A hybrid between the two perennial rainbow plant species, this is a large carnivores with leaves that can reach more than a foot in length on a thick stem that can also reach a foot or more in height over time (even branching with age). They can grow year-round if kept moist and cool enough, or may go dormant during the summer season, dying back to sprout again from the stem and roots. Flowers are huge, nearly 2" across and a brilliant violet coloration. Two or more different clones are needed to pollinate, but it is potentially a species that might be propagated via stem cuttings. Current stock includes primarily seeds of a backcross to lamellata.   Packets contain 8-10+ seeds; this is a fire-adapted species that needs special treatment to germinate, a 4-6 day soak in 500-1000 ppm GA3 solution recommended.   Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class or Priority). US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. Sold By: Carlton Carnivores
A whopper of a cross between two famous parents; "Lunch Box" is a richer colored 'Leah Wilkerson' mimic that gets huge and develops high-contrast white and red pitchers, while 'Waccamaw' is one of the most sought-after, clean-colored var. atropurpurea out there with short but elegant blood red pitchers and yellow interior tubes that age to the same crimson color. Offspring will likely be variable, but vigorous and extremely colorful. Packets contain approximately 20 seeds, and require cold stratification. A large rainbow plant form that can grow erect up to nearly 3 feet tall in some cases, under restricted conditions may form a scrambling vine to even greater lengths, with leaves that can be well over a foot long. Flowers are impressively large, nearly 2" across at times with bright purple petals bearing mildly serrated edges and bright yellow anthers in the center to contrast. Best grown in a large pot with lots of room for roots and overhead growth. Packets contain approx. 10+ seeds; seeds do require special treatment (GA3 solution, smoke treatment, or similar) to germinate. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class or Priority). US shipping only. This form of D. intermedia is nearly identical in all ways to the standard variants, but for one detail: it's pure, glowing green. Plants tend to make rosettes around 2 inches in diameter, with paddle-shaped leaves splaying out in all directions. Color remains neon green no matter how strong the lighting is (but light should be high for best health in this full-sun plant). Flower stalks are of moderate height and bear small white blooms that self-pollinate readily. Seeds require a 4-week cold stratification to germinate.
Packets contain approx. 20 seeds each.

While I have had its relative laevicaulis (the Giant Blazingstar) available in seed form for a while, this species known as the Bractless Blazingstar is a Great Plains native (these seeds are collected from our property) and slightly more suited to midwestern climates but the same sandy soil preference. Generally biennial in nature, plants grow as flat rosettes of velcro-textured leaves in their first year to build energy, then spike into tall stems up to 3 feet high and branching in the second, topped with flowers up to 4 inches wide that look like a white firework. Packets will contain approx. 20+ seeds each. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class or Priority). US shipping only. Original price was: $25.00.Current price is: $15.00.
    Sold By: Carlton Carnivores
This is a cross with massive potential, sure to produce some incredibly high-contrast x moorei plants. The pod parent is a seed-grown clone of 'Hurricane Creek White' that often opens with a red tint to the exterior before aging to pure green and white with a snow-white mouth, and the pollen parent is the most sought-after solid-red atropurpurea out there, pure crimson with a bright yellow interior that ages to solid red. Offspring are almost certain to have extremely pale pitcher mouths and rich red tubes. Packets contain approximately 20 seeds, and require cold stratification. This species tends to develop short, slender upright stems up to a foot tall, with leaves often no more than 2" in length and often flushed throughout in rich red color. The stem is topped often by a cluster of bright purple flowers with pale backs and heavily serrated petal edges. Like most Byblis, they require cross-pollination to produce seeds and do best with lots of room for the roots to spread. Packets contain approx. 10 seeds. Seeds do require special treatment (GA3 solution, smoke treatment, or similar) to germinate. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class or Priority). Byblis are uncommonly grown as is, hybrids even rarer especially as sometimes it's hard to get the cross to succeed. This particular hybrid however seems not only fairly easy to produce, but easy to grow as well thanks to the female parent. Exhibiting rapid growth, small and delicate flowers, and sometimes the self-pollinating traits of B. liniflora, it also sports serrated, darker purple petals, red flushes (sometimes, not always) in the stems and leaves, and a more slender, erect growth form like B. rorida. Packets contain approx. 15-20+ seeds each; seeds do require special treatment (GA3 solution, smoke treatment, or similar) to germinate. This pygmy sundew grows to around 3/4 inch in diameter, producing flat rosettes of paddle-shaped leaves with extremely wide petioles and circular traps tinged orange by the tentacles. When they bloom, thin stalks will sport several strikingly metallic orange flowers as wide as or wider than the plant itself. Packets contain approximately 20+ gemmae each. Drosera gemmae are shipped wrapped in moist paper towels and plastic packs to avoid drying out, shipped via USPS First Class mail. US shipping only. If you are expecting detrimental weather that may impact survival of the gemmae, please contact me immediately when ordering; if otherwise damaged upon arrival or package is lost in transit, please notify immediately to arrange replacements where possible.

Pygmy sundews are typically well-known for their habit of rarely producing seeds, and when they do, those seeds being tough to germinate...this is one of the few exceptions! D. omissa grows to not much more than an inch across, with tiny rosettes of paddle-shaped leaves that over time form short stems. Plants typically reproduce via gemmae, modified leaves produced in winter that slough off the plant and sprout, but throughout the year they will also send up short, wiry stalks that bear one to several moderately large, bright pink flowers that will self-pollinate and produce small amounts of seeds. Seeds require no special treatment to germinate but may take some time to sprout.

Collected from plants that grow wild on our property in Platteville, this is a Colorado native but can be found through much of the Great Plains and into the mountain foothills. Seeds germinate after a cool winter stratification and like sandy, well-drained soils. Mature plants tend not to get much more than 12-18 inches tall, and in mid to late spring, early summer on a prolonged season, will reward you with some of the most electric to sky blue flowers you will ever see in your life, tinted with hints of pink or lavender. Packets will contain approx. 30+ seeds each. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class or Priority). US shipping only. This is a cross with a lot of high color, high contrast, and weird-shape potential. The pod parent is a plant with vermillion pitchers and a gaping, angular mouth that does not look unlike some 'Reptilian Rose' pitchers, and the pollen parent is a giant of a plant with gaping pitchers that look almost like pure leucophylla. Offspring will hopefully have a lot of brilliant red and white contrast, and maybe some angular shapes similar to "Chaos" or 'Reptilian Rose.' This locality of D. serpens is a somewhat shorter and more heavily colored version than the common form. Plants may reach up to 8 inches or so in length, with thick stems supporting filiform leaves up to 4 inches long that spread out in all directions. Under strong lighting, color starts out bright green but will blush with age to pale and rich reds. When fed well, short curling stalks will be produced along the stem that bear large, brilliant pink broad-petaled flowers. As an annual, this species requires sowing new seeds to maintain the colony when old plants die off, and are great for either singular display or colony setups. Packets contain 30+ seeds each. This species requires no special treatment for germination, and does best in wet sandy soils in hot, very bright environments.

A relative of the more familiar U. dichotoma, this bladderwort is an Australian endemic that produces sparse mats of thin leaves and stalks that bear small but beautiful multi-hued violet and yellow/white flowers. Germination of many Utricularia seeds is not always a simple affair, but may be good for a challenge determining seasonal, chemical, or other cues to trigger sprouting, and this species is likely to be similar. One of the so-called "spider-leaved" sundews, D. serpens is an Australian-Asian species that develops scrambling stems that can exceed a foot in length, alternately bearing long filiform leaves up to 4 inches in length that spread up and then out as they grow. This variety stays primarily green under all conditions (though the tentacles may blush reddish), and when fed well will produce short stalks from the stem bearing moderately large, bright lilac-pink blooms. This is a great species for singular display, or in a colony, and is an annual so reproduces only through seeds. Packets contain 30+ seeds each. This species requires no special treatment to germinate, and grows best in wet, sandy soil in hot, strong light environments.

This is a cross between a cultivar of my own making and a famous giant; 'Red Beret' grows like a red-lidded alata on steroids and maintains a crisp, almost military-precise cut of color under the lid and sharp veins while almost patternless on the exterior, and "Lunch Box" is a 'Leah Wilkerson' mimic with richer color. Offspring should be large, marked with stark red coloration under the lid and in the throat, and lightly white-spotted in the upper pitcher and lid. Owing to the size and vigor of both parents, they should also be fast-growing, large, and fairly cold-hardy. Packets contain approximately 20 seeds, and require cold stratification. One of the classic "rainbow plant" species, and also one of the largest. This taxon will develop scrambling, branching stems that may measure several feet in length, covered in filiform leaves and the entire plant coated in various length sticky tentacles. Under good light, plants will often blush with purple-red, and when fed heavily may produce one to several, or in some cases dozens, of large, electric violet flowers with contrasting bright yellow anthers in the middle. These are more or less annuals, though they can be grown from stem cuttings many times, and new seeds are best sown to continue a colony. Packets contain 15-20+ seeds each. This species requires GA3 or smoke treatment in order to trigger germination, and plants are best grown in large pots with sand wet soil in hot, strong light conditions. This fantastic Asian species develops two different kinds of rosettes; young or stressed rosettes may be around 2 inches in diameter and lay flat on the ground, with moderately thin oar-shaped leaves; mature plants in good conditions will switch over to rosettes that can be 3-4 inches across with semi-erect leaves with much longer petioles and stretched obovate lamina curving up toward the sky. Under good lighting, color is a rich olive green with scarlet tentacles, or solid crimson to wine red. Very thin, wiry stalks are produced when mature, bearing moderately, large, very spaced out light pink flowers with notably rounded petals. This is a great species for singular display, though they will occasionally divide or bud off old leaves to form colonies. Packets contain 30+ seeds each. This species requires no special treatment to germinate (though may take some time), and grows best in cool, wet, strong light environments (though can tolerate heat fairly well). One of the most distinctive D. spatulata varieties, this northern Australian taxon develops rosettes between 1.5-2 inches in diameter of flat, narrow strap or wedge-shaped and bright lime-green leaves with red tentacles (and sometimes a nice red blush as well in the leaves themselves). It is most famous however for its flower stalks, which are short, often held just above or at the soil level, and incredibly hairy, with relatively large and metallic hot pink self-pollinating blooms stacked practically on top of each other at the end. Not typically a plant to divide often or bud off old leaves, seeds can be sown to develop an attractive carpet. Packets contain 40+ seeds each. This species requires no species treatment for germination, and grows best in warm tropical conditions with strong light. Flower stalks can reach more than  foot high an bear numerous tiny white blooms. As a naturally annual species, this plant needs to be fed very well and seeds sown regularly to maintain a colony. Packets contain 75+ seeds each. This species requires no special conditions to germinate, but needs regular feeding to reach maturity. Native to much of the western US, this is a cold-hardy biennial semi-shrub that lives its first year of life as a spreading rosette of heavily lobed, velcro-texture leaves. In its second year it grows anywhere from 2-5 feet tall, branching heavily and producing at the end of each branch one to three night- to morning-blooming flowers that can be nearly 6 inches across and are brilliantly lemon yellow, with a spray of filiform stigmas sticking out of the middle. These flowers are followed by odd cylindrical pods with the same velcro-like texture as the leaves, and each contain numerous flat blackish seeds. Sowing a handful of seeds two different years can ensure establishment of blooming generations every year. Packets contain approx. 30+ seeds, and require a 2-3 month cold stratification to germinate. I made this cross in hopes of bringing back out traits of 'Red Sumatra' and brightening them up with more white. The pod parent is an unknown cross with the well-known ruby red Florida x moorei cultivar, and displays variable color from green with stark red veins to richly ruby tinted around the mouth and lid. The pollen parent is a now famous giant 'Leah Wilkerson' mimic with high contrast red and white color and vigorous growth. Packets contain approximately 20 seeds, and require cold stratification. If a package is lost in transit, please contact as soon as possible.

A South American endemic and a great beginner plant, this somewhat shade-loving species develops moderately to large-sized rounded leaves that are often marked in prominent purple veins, and thick flower stalks that bear self-pollinating purplish flowers marked in the center with darker hues and a yellow spot. Seeds of this species are capable of being stored cold for years and germinate readily on moist soil. Packets contain approx. 30-50+ seeds. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class). US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. D. paleacea is a plant that rarely exceeds a half in across but can make stems up to 2 inches in height, topped in a pincushion rosette of paddle-shaped green leaves with pinkish red tentacles. Flower stalks are short and sport several delicate white blooms. Gemmae packets contain 20+ gemmae each.

A plant with many names depending on who you talk to; once classified under Epilobium, and some say the current name is spelled Chamaenerion. Fireweed or Fireflower is a widespread US native species, a colonizer of newly burned locations and open soils (especially if it's rich and well-drained or acidic) and prolific once established. Plants may grow as tall as 3 feet, with branching stems of lance-shaped deep red-green leaves topped by spikes of large, bright mauve-pink blooms that produce long seedpods full of tiny seeds attached to wind-dispersed fluff. A great plant for an outdoor pot, or any spot that you just can't quite get anything else to grow (so long as adequate water is given). Packets contain approximately 50+ seeds, which benefit from a month-long cold stratification.

A small, delicate pipevine that is quite easy to grow; plants may mature at less than a foot long, with leaves around 2" wide with a fan-shaped array of silvery veins on deep green. Flowers may be no more than an inch or two across, with a bulbous base and curving neck  that spreads into a flared, fimbriated opening; anthers and stigma are within the base, so for pollination one must cut into the side of the bloom and differently aged blooms pollinate best. Packets contain approximately 10 seeds; no special treatment is required to germinate.

A delicate species for the collector of wildflowers and US natives; unlike most other lupines this is a fast-growing annual that re-seeds every year. A west-coast native, it can be found in a variety of habitats from California to Washington. Plants average 8-30 inches tall, developing a splayed rosette of pinwheel-shaped leaves around a central stalk that sometimes branches as it grows, and is topped by small clusters of tiny but beautiful flowers that open indigo-blue and white and fade over time in the lighter parts to pink and purplish. Photos are of flowers from the seeds source; packets contain around 20 seeds each. No special treatment needed for germination. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class). US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. U. longifolia is one of the easiest large bladderworts to grow, tolerant of a wide range of wet soil types and temperatures; leaves often reach between 6-12" in length (some may grow even longer), and if given mild seasonal cues will often send up numerous stalks in mid winter to early spring that sport several large, brilliant violet and yellow blooms up to almost 2" across. Packets contain 50+ seeds; these should be able to be cold-stored for long periods if necessary and should germinate readily on moist soil. Plants grow best in an airy sphagnum or peat/perlite mix, kept very moist to even waterlogged. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail. US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. If you like cantaloupe or other muskmelons and have a penchant for small and colorful, this is a great one to try out. The scrambling vines bear little yellow flowers that give way to roughly 4 inch long, ovular melons striped in rusty red-orange and cream/yellow, the flesh inside a creamy yellowish color similar to the "vine peach" melong and, in my experience so far, a bit less sweet than cantaloupe. Best started indoors and planted out after frost for a long growing season. Packets contain approx. 15 seeds each. As the Rich Sweetness is to cantaloupe, so this is to a honeydew. The standard melon vine and yellow blooms produce squat, rounded and slightly ribbed melons up to about 4 inches in diameter, that when mature develop a striking orange color with two-tone green bands in between. The interior is mildly and musky-flavored and bright green, good for adding to smoothies or salads. Packets contain approx. 15 seeds each. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class or Priority). US shipping only.
