A truly unique hybrid with an appearance that can trick even the experienced eye; rosettes appear to reach up to 2 inches in diameter on average, may grow larger, but look almost purely like the pod parent with long, slender petioles tipped by oval or teardrop shaped lamina that splay out in all directions, semi-erect to flat. However, they have tiny hairs on them and flush redder than intermedia ever seems to, and send up spindly stalks bearing small, but pale PINK flowers. They don't tend to divide or bud quickly, making it good for a single-display plant.

Available plants are semi-mature to mature, approx. 1.5-2" in diameter

Plants are shipped bare-root wrapped in a moist paper towel, via USPS Priority mail; I typically ship Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend hold-overs. US shipping only. Many plants are grown in high humidity conditions and may require acclimation, unless otherwise noted. If you are expecting weather that may be detrimental to the plants if shipped, please message me upon making your order! Shipping cost includes heat pack or cold pack/insulation as needed for detrimental weather conditions. If there are issues with the plants upon arrival, please contact me within 48 hours of receipt.

A rare hybrid made rigth here many years ago, slow to multiply for me (small plantlets can be touchy) but spectacular when mature. Plants may develop stems several inches tall with spreading leaves in a firework pattern around it up to 4 inches across, extremely narrow petioles with small hairs lining them and ovular lamina curling at the tips. Flowers are rare, sterile, forming in small numbers at the ends of curving stalks and bright pink.

Available plants are young, around an inch tall and 1-1.5" in diameter.

This is an attractive and easy-growing hybrid between the occasionally touchy south-Chinese oblanceolata and what has been distributed as a possible ultramafica  hybrid, though is likely just a very attractive spatulata form. This cross grows to almost 4" in diameter maximum, developing semi-erect rising rosettes of slender, paddle-shaped leaves that in good lighting typically turn solid crimson. Flower stalks are moderately tall and sport a number of sterile, fairly large blooms so pale pink they often appear white. Great as an individual plant, they will often divide or bud from old leaves and roots to form colonies over time.

Available plants will typically be between 1.5-2.5" in diamter, semi-mature.

A known male clone, and a great plant for both beginners and those that just want something fast-growing with fat pitchers. Traps average 5-6 inches tall and are nearly cylindrical, with a variable pale red pattern over light creamy or green background, and the peristome is thick and mildly scalloped with a creamy to peach-red color, sometimes appearing striped as it frequently mutates with missing ribs that lack color. Upper pitchers are similar but even paler and funnel-shaped. Unlike some of the other clones this isn't a particularly small vine, and will happily grow several feet in length with multiple basals popping up frequently.

Available plants are rooted cuttings approx. 5-6" in diameter.

A fast-growing but smaller-sized hybrid for those who don't have a lot of space or are just starting out, or just want something new that's easy to grow. Vines will flower at only 1-2 feet tall, and pitchers appear to max out at around 5 inches tall. Lower pitchers are stocky and cylindrical with a flaring peristome and pale pink and green colors overall; uppers are even paler green and more funnel-shaped.

Available plants are rooted cuttings approx. 5" in diameter.

One of three clones from this locality that I grow, this form does not develop pitchers as red as either of its siblings, but has a distinctively different growth shape, with more cylindrical overall proportions. Both lower and upper pitchers are mainly green with red highlights and sometimes speckling, and tend to average between 2-3 inches tall.

Available plant is a rooted cutting with established new growth approximately 5 inches in diameter.

A wonderful hybrid originally from California Carnivores, “John Rizzi” is a butterwort collection staple that isn’t in circulation much these days. It’s an easy grower that gets quite large, producing gorgeous, bronzy, undulating leaves with sparse, dark venation that are some of the most effective at catching fungus gnats and other small pests that we’ve seen. “John Rizzi” doesn’t flower often for us but the large, round-petaled, pink flowers are worth the wait. The parentage is unknown but this plant was famously crossed by a hummingbird at California Carnivores. Named by Peter D’Amato after, I believe, an employee who was working at California Carnivores at the time. The plant you will receive will be 1"-1.5" in diameter. We would consider this a beginner level plant.

You will be purchasing a rooted cutting of Nepenthes lowii x truncata.  These plants are from cuttings that were struck at the end of December, so they are about 4 months old.  Please, DO NOT buy these if you are expecting a large established plant and if you have little experience with young, rooted cuttings.  I will only ship cuttings that have terminal growth or a lateral bud has begun growth.  The pictures are of this particular species and are representative of the root system and stem.  This is a vigorous plant and makes amazing and long-lasting pitchers. You will receive 1 plant that will be shipped to you bare-root by Priority Mail.   Shipping for Nepenthes is $12 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.

You will be purchasing the perennial species Byblis gigantea (typical form).  The mature plant illustrated is 1 year old and actually a hybrid, it is just meant to be a guide for what this plant will resemble once mature.  You will be purchasing a tissue culture plant in sterile media.  It may not have roots.  Please note that the cultures pictured are of this species but you will only get one "tube", not a set of 5.  Wash the media off the plant and pot it up.  I suggest 3:2:1 perlite: sand:peat.  Keep the humidity high while the plant acclimates and keep shaded until it acclimates.  You can divide these prior to potting if you wish to make additional cuttings. Shipping is $12 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.

The poster child of the carnivorous plant world, Dionaea muscipula, also known as Venus flytraps, are the fascinating snappy insect-munchers that fantasies are made of. With hinged jaws, digestive enzymes, and the ability to count, flytraps defy common perceptions about plants. Your purchase includes one of the plants featured here. It’s a mature specimen and is shipped bare root. Venus flytraps are temperate insectivores and originate from the Carolinas where they experience a winter dormancy and spring and summer growth. During winter dormancy, leaves are trimmed back. Come spring, they explode back to life with new trap growth and represent the featured photo.
